Old New Proverbs

For years, we have been following proverbs,
From biblical sources, famous people, all words,
All were wise, smart, and educational,
Some recreational some even sensational,
Over the years, they became the convention,
It is time to put the old ways on suspension,
Let us look at some conventions from the past,
Tweak, modify and change, let’s have a blast,
It said, “he who laughs last, laughs best”
Really? – “He, who laughs last, thinks slowest”
How about? ”Closed mouth gathers no flies”
Now,”A closed mouth gathers no feet”, that’s wise,
Over the years we keep changing and we do hope,
We keep pushing the envelope,
And now that we are well into the 21st century,
It is time to face the real things, face reality,
We are more practical nowadays,
Let’s be rid of the old ways,
Like Confucius said- (it is funny)
“Man, who eats prunes, gets good run for money”
